Starnberger See (municipality-free area)
The community-free area Starnberger See is located in Upper Bavaria .
The 56.88 km² area includes the eponymous Starnberger See , is assigned to the Starnberg district and borders on the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen districts in the east and Weilheim-Schongau in the south.
The only island in Lake Starnberg, the approximately 2.5 hectare Rose Island located off the west coast of Feldafing , is not part of the community-free area, but belongs to the community of Feldafing.

The following municipalities have a share of the lake shore and thus border on the municipality-free area (clockwise, starting in the north):
- Starnberg (north, district of Starnberg)
- Berg (northeast, Starnberg district) with the districts of Kempfenhausen, Berg and Leoni
- Münsing (southeast, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district) with the districts Ammerland , Ambach , Sankt Heinrich and Seeheim
- Seeshaupt (south, Weilheim-Schongau district) and the Seeseiten district
- Bernried (southwest, Weilheim-Schongau district)
- Tutzing (west, Starnberg district) and the Unterzeismering district
- Feldafing (northwest, Starnberg district) and the Garatshausen district
- Pöcking (northwest, district of Starnberg) with the districts of Possenhofen and Niederpöcking
