At Wieren it crosses under the Stendal-Bremen railway line (“ Amerikalinie ”) together with a cycle path , from here the course mainly points to the northwest. In the area of the southern outer port of the Esterholz lock , the river crosses a tunnel under the Elbe Side Canal a second time, in order to change the name again from the village of Stederdorf , in Stederau .
