Stefan Keller (born May 21, 1960 in Basel ) is a Swiss journalist , author and entrepreneur.

Life

Stefan Keller comes from a cheesemaker and baker family. Growing up in Hünibach am Thunersee, he trained at the state teacher training college in Spiez (1976–1981). He then worked as a freelance journalist and gastronomy about ten years, resulted inter alia in the Engadin the restaurant Lagrev in Isola and the hotel and heading home Chesa Pool in Fex Valley in Sils Maria . During this time he taught hotel management assistants. Host patent and wine trade patent were acquired. From 1994 to 1999 Stefan Keller worked as an editor in Zurich for the international magazine Vinum , where, among other things, he was responsible for the implementation of the national Chasselas Cup. Keller is an epee fencer in his spare time and finished 11th in the age category 50–59 at the 2012 World Championships. He won the Austrian Seniors Championships in 2016 and the Otto Sokopp Memorial Tournament in 2016, 2017 and 2019. Keller lives in Rapperswil-Jona and Promontogno .

Stefan Keller is co-founder of the Swiss Schnaps Forum Association (also: Forum Suisse des eaux-de-vie or Forum svizzero dell'acquavite) (1998), which launched the national award for local distillates, and of the Mémoire des Vins Suisses Association (founded in 2002 , Transfer to an association in 2004), which builds up a collection of Swiss wines with a representative character. Together with Emil Zopfi, Keller wrote the play Ein Russ im Bergell , the story of Christian Klucker and Anton von Rydzewski , one of the most tragic rope teams in Alpine history. The actors Gian Rupf and René Schnoz have played the play on Swiss stages and in SAC huts since the first performance in 2010 .
