Emil Zopfi (born January 4, 1943 in Wald ZH ) is a Swiss writer .

Life

Emil Zopfi, who grew up in Gibswil , studied electrical engineering at the Technikum Winterthur after completing an apprenticeship as a telecommunications and electronic equipment fitter and worked as a programmer and systems engineer at the Institute for Physical Chemistry at ETH Zurich , at Siemens and IBM, and as an adult educator for computer science and language at EB Zurich , the school for professional development of the Canton of Zurich.

Long stays abroad in Germany, Italy, England, USA and Israel.

Zopfi has lived in Zurich since 2010 . From 1989 to 2009 he conducted writing workshops with his wife Christa Zopfi , author, in their own house in Obstalden . He is a passionate mountaineer and sport climber .

Literary work

Zopfi is the author of novels , radio plays , books for children and young people , non-fiction books about local mountains as well as texts about writing. Recurring topics in his books are, for example, the influence of the computer on modern life, mountains and mountaineering, the early accidental death of his mother ( critically injured ), historical topics, etc. a. from the canton of Glarus .
