Stefan Ridderwall (born March 5, 1988 in Brännkyrka ) is a Swedish ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with the Rødovre Mighty Bulls in the Danish Metal Ligaen since summer 2017 . His father Rolf was a well-known ice hockey goalkeeper, his cousin Calle is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Stefan Ridderwall began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of Djurgårdens IF , for whose professional team he was active from 2005 to 2011 in the Elitserien , the top Swedish division. His greatest success with the team was reaching the runner-up in the 2009/10 season . In the 2007/08 season he played parallel to the game with Djurgården in a total of four games as a loan player for Almtuna IS and Nyköpings HC in the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan . For the 2011/12 season the goalkeeper was signed by Djurgården's league rivals Timrå IK , where he played for two years.

For the 2013/14 season he moved to Germany to the Düsseldorfer EG , but returned to Sweden in the summer of 2014 and joined the Rögle BK from HockeyAllsvenskan . In the 2015/16 season Ridderwall played for the Rødovre Mighty Bulls from the Danish Metal Ligaen , then for a year with the Heilbronner Falken in the DEL2 . In 2017 he returned to the Mighty Bulls in Denmark.

International

For Sweden , Ridderwall took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2006 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2008 . At the U20 World Cup in 2008 he won the silver medal with his team.
