Stefanie von Berg (* 16 August 1964 in Göttingen ) is a German educator , politician of the party Alliance 90 / The Greens Hamburg and former member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life

After attending primary school in Göttingen, interrupted by the family's one year stay in New York , he went to school and graduated from high school in 1983 in Rotenburg an der Wümme . Then she completed a training as a medical assistant.

From 1985 to 1989 Stefanie von Berg completed a teaching degree at the University of Osnabrück, specializing in health and teaching English. This was followed by a legal clerkship in Stade . She then worked at the Verden an der Aller vocational school until 1998 . Berg was in 2000 at the University of Greifswald with a dissertation on " : Uncomfortable Mirror (de) colonization in poems of contemporary North American indigenous authors 1973-1997 " doctorate .

Stefanie von Berg was elected to the citizenship of the Stellingen-Eimsbüttel-West constituency in 2011 . In the green parliamentary group she was the specialist spokesperson for the subjects of school and vocational training, inclusion and religion.

In the 2015 general election , von Berg won a direct mandate in her constituency and was a member of the 21st Hamburg parliament from March 2015 .

In the fall of 2015, a pointed statement by Bergs became the subject of a shit storm . On November 11th, she said in an educational debate in the citizenship: “ I am of the opinion that in 20 or 30 years we will no longer have any ethnic majorities in our city. “And referred to the results of migration research. On November 1, 2018, she resigned from her citizenship mandate. On September 26, 2019, von Berg was elected as the new district head by the district assembly of the Altona district . She received 33 votes out of 45, with two abstentions and ten votes against. Six MPs were missing from the election. In addition to the Greens and the SPD, the CDU had also spoken out in favor of their choice. In order to succeed Liane Melzer , she still had to be appointed by the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg . She took over the office on December 2, 2019.
