Career

Bohl's first positions were TuS Wachenheim (youth), VfL Neustadt / Weinstraße (youth) and SV Weingarten (upper league).

In the 2005/06 season he played at 1. FC Kaiserslautern , initially in the Regionalliga Süd at 1. FCK II (23 appearances, the team's top scorer with six goals, one yellow and one red card). At the end of the season he made two short appearances in the Bundesliga in the games against Eintracht Frankfurt and VfL Wolfsburg . Since June 2006 he was a licensed player in the first team of the FCK, which played in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2006/07 season. He scored two goals after being substituted on in the home game against TuS Koblenz on the 5th matchday of the 2006/07 season . 1. FC Kaiserslautern won the game 4: 3 after falling 2-0 down.

In the 2007/08 season, Steffen Bohl played 20 competitive games for 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 2. Bundesliga and scored three goals. At the end of the season he left the club on a free transfer, but did not find a new employer for a long time. At the end of August 2008, shortly before the transfer market was closed, Bohl joined VfR Aalen in the third division. In the 2008/09 season he came to 32 missions and scored six goals, one of them to equalize in the last game of the season at SpVgg Unterhaching , which was lost 2-1.

For the 2009/10 season Bohl moved to the second division relegated SV Wehen Wiesbaden . With his teammates there Sebastian Reinert , Fabian Schönheim , Benjamin Weigelt and Marcel Ziemer , he had already played at FCK. On January 3, 2011, he signed a contract with Eintracht Braunschweig that ran until June 30, 2012 . After four appearances in the 2011/12 season, he played his way back into the Eintracht squad in the 2012/13 second division . In the end, he rose to the Bundesliga with Eintracht, but his contract was not extended, so he left the club in summer 2013. Bohl signed a contract with Energie Cottbus until the end of the season in November 2013 and moved to MSV Duisburg free of charge after relegating in the 2014/15 season . There he became team captain and regular player, although there were several shorter injury breaks. In 2015 he achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with the team. After relegation to the 3rd division, he left Duisburg in the summer of 2016. He moved to SV Elversberg in the Regionalliga; his contract runs until 2019. Bohl ended his active career there on June 30, 2019, at last only a player in the 2nd team.
