geography

course

The Steinebach rises northeast of the former Naxburg Castle north of Freiensteinau . Its course initially goes south. To the north of Freiensteinau, the stream makes a small curve in a northerly direction, and then flows in an easterly direction to Freiensteinau- Reinhards . It now flows a short distance to the southeast and then changes to the south, its main flow direction, which it maintains until reaching Steinau. It flows past the road- Hintersteinau on the western edge of the village of Steinau . To the southeast of Steinau- Uerzell , the Uerzeller Wasser flows from the right side and from Schlüchtern - Kressenbach , the stream of the same name, from the left side. To the south of Kressenbach it flows a longer distance through a wooded nature reserve . Shortly after crossing under the A 66 , the stream reaches the outskirts of Steinau. There it changes its course to the south-west and finally flows north of Bahnhofsstraße into the Kinzig .
