The Steingraben is a left and eastern tributary of the Altmühl near Gunzenhausen in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia .

The stone ditch rises west of Büchelberg am Fischhaus at an altitude of 428 m above sea level. NN . It first flows through the Kästleinsweiher . Then it crosses under the district road WUG 22 , the federal road 13 and the railway line Würzburg-Treuchtlingen . After a run of around 3.2 kilometers, the Steingraben empties near Muhr not far from the Altmühlsee south of Neuenmuhr at an altitude of 413 m above sea level. NN from the left into the Altmühl.
The stream has numerous unnamed tributaries. There is a connection to the Laubenzedeler Mühlbach .
