The Stena Adventurer is a RoPax - ferry of Stena Line . It sails on the Holyhead - Dublin route in the Irish Sea .

history

The ship was built under the hull number 1393 at the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in Ulsan , South Korea , and delivered to Stena Ferries in London in May 2003. It has been in service on the Holyhead - Dublin route since July 2003 .

Technical specifications

The ship is powered by four MAN B & W - diesel engines with a capacity totaling 25,920  kW driven. The motors act on two controllable pitch propellers . The ship can thus reach a speed of up to 22.5  knots .

Sister ships

The Stena Adventurer is the second of two ships built by Hyundai Heavy Industries for Stena Line in 2003 . Her sister ship is today's Stena Scandinavica , built as Stena Britannica II , which is used on the Gothenburg - Kiel route. The Stena Britannica was extended at the beginning of 2007 at the Lloyd shipyard in Bremerhaven, so that the two ships are no longer identical.
