Stenia Liliane Michel (born October 23, 1987 in Uster , Canton of Zurich ) is a former Swiss football player and current coach .
Career
society
Michel started her career as a goalkeeper in the youth of her home club FC Uster and later moved to the youth boarding school of FC Wetzikon . She played in Wetzikon until the summer of 2001 and that year went to the youth boarding school of the women's football department of FC Zurich . There she made her debut in the National League A for FC Zurich Women at the age of 14 due to a bad injury . On August 15, 2013, she signed a two-year contract with the German Bundesliga club FF USV Jena . In April 2016, she announced that she would not extend her expiring contract with Jena. On May 17, 2016, Michel signed with FC Basel , where she played with Ria Percival . After 2 years as team captain at FC Basel, she ended her active career as a player.
National team
On April 3, 2013, the then 25-year-old was appointed to the Swiss national football team for the first time . Michel also took part in the U-20 World Cup in Russia in 2006 for Switzerland's U-20s . In September 2017, shortly after the European Championship 2017 , she resigned from the national team.
As a trainer
Michel, goalkeeping trainer in the women's soccer department, has been at Grasshopper Club Zurich since July 31, 2018 and has also been training the Grasshopper U-15s since February 2019.
