Stephan Kaller

Stephan Kaller (* 1957 in Würzburg ) is a German pianist , chamber musician , song accompanist and piano teacher .

Life

The son of a high school teacher received his first piano lessons at the age of eight . As a 15-year-old high school student he was accepted into the piano class of the Hungarian pianist Julian von Károlyi at the University of Music in Würzburg , where he studied for a total of almost ten years. After his concert exam in 1981 in piano and school music exam the following year, he continued his training with Arne Torger and received his master class diploma in piano in 1984 . He rounded off his education with international courses, including a. with the Polish Chopin interpreter Adam Harasiewicz and with Norman Shetler ( song accompaniment ), Werner Genuit ( chamber music ) and Klaus Runze ( pedagogy ).

Stephan Kaller has been working as a teacher for piano and piano methodology at the vocational school for music in the Swabian district in Krumbach since 1984 . Stephan Kaller has performed as a soloist , chamber musician and lied accompanist, primarily in Germany, since 1987 . Tours have taken him to Iceland and Italy , Austria , Romania and Slovakia . He received invitations to piano recitals a. a. to the cultural festival in Bratislava , to the Philharmonic's New Year's Eve concerts in Žilina and the museum concerts in Reykjavík as well as the “concerti d'estate” in Pieve di Ledro in Trentino .

In 1990 he founded a piano duo with the Slovak pianist Pavol Kovac . Musical partners are also the violinist Sabine Reus , the Icelandic soprano Margret Bóasdóttir and the flautist Elke Gallenmüller . He accompanies the Regensburg singer Beate Echtler on her program Schlager of the 20s and 30s .

In the winter semester of 1996, he was a substitute professor for piano as a major at the University of Music in Würzburg . Since 2002 he has been a lecturer at the Leopold Mozart Center of the University in Augsburg .

He is a juror at Jugend musiziert and other piano competitions and is an assessor on the board of the Augsburg Tonkünstlerverband .
