Stephen Adams (born July 13, 1990 in Belfast , Northern Ireland , United Kingdom ) is a Northern Irish ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Solway Stingrays in the Scottish National League since 2017 . Internationally he plays for the Irish national ice hockey team .

Career

Stephen Adams, who was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, began his career with the Solway Sharks from Dumfries , Scotland , with whom he reached the final of the Scottish Cup in 2008 , which however was lost 4-7 to the Dundee Stars . He then moved to the Republic of Ireland, where he was on the ice for the Latvian Hawks in the Irish Ice Hockey League for two years and was able to win the Irish championship in 2010. After this success he moved to his hometown, where he was not used by the Belfast Giants in the Elite Ice Hockey League . So he returned to the Solway Sharks, who play as the only Scottish team in the (English) National Ice Hockey League . With the Haien, he first won Division II of the National Ice Hockey League in the 2011/12 season and thus achieved promotion to Division I, in which he has played with the team since then and whose playoffs the team won in 2014 , after winning the main round last year. In addition to his assignments in the National Ice Hockey League, he also played for his team in the Scottish National League . Since 2017 he has also played in the Scottish National League for the successor club Solway Stingrays.

International

The British citizen Adams played for Ireland in Division III World Championships in 2009 , 2010 , 2012 and 2013 . After he was promoted with the team from the green island in 2010, he entered Division II at the 2011 World Cup .
