Steven Stockman (born April 12, 1958 in Toronto , Ontario , † 2013 in Peterborough , Ontario) was an Austro - Canadian ice hockey player .
Career
Stockman played from 1975 to 1978 in the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League , first with the London Knights and then with the Cornwall Royals . In the 1978/79 season he played with the Port Huron Flags in the International Hockey League . From 1979 to 1981 he ran for the Erie Blades before moving to the Hampton Aces within the Eastern Hockey League during the 1980/81 season. The season 1981/82 Stockman spent with the Fort Wayne Komets and Flint Generals in the IHL. Between the playing years 1982/83 and 1983/84 he was active for the Erie Golden Blades in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League , before moving again to the Flint Generals during the 1983/84 season.
From 1984 Stockman moved to Europe, where he played in 1984/85 with EHC Lustenau , 1985/86 with Wiener EV , 1986/87 again first with EHC Lustenau in Austria and then with HC Ambrì-Piotta in Switzerland. In the 1986/87 season he went again first at EHC Lustenau on the ice before ending the season at EHC Olten . The striker spent the 1988/89 season at EV Innsbruck before he was active at EV in Vienna from 1989 to 1991. For the game year 1991/92 Stockman was under contract with EK Zell am See and from 1992 to 1994 with UEC Mödling . After taking a break in the 1994/95 season, he played his last season in 1995/96 at Kapfenberger SV .
Stockman died of a heart attack in 2013 at the age of 55.
International
After he had accepted Austrian citizenship in 1988, Stockman came to the B World Cup in 1989 for the Austrian national team.
