Steven Strait (born March 23, 1986 in New York City , United States ) is an American film actor , model and musician .

biography

Strait grew up as the oldest of two children in Greenwich Village and graduated from Xavier High School in Manhattan . As a child and teenager, Strait modeled in front of the camera and appeared in numerous fashion magazines, including L'uomo Vogue and Pop . Bruce Weber , Herb Ritts and Ellen von Unwerth were among the photographers who shot Strait .

Strait, who had been taking acting classes since he was eleven, including Stella Adler's Dramatic Workshop , moved to California after graduating in 2004 to work as an actor. In 2005 he made his breakthrough with the comedy Newcomer - Swap Fame Against Love . Along with pop singer Ashlee Simpson , Strait sang the song Smart in a Stupid Way from the film's soundtrack .

Strait's most famous flick to date was the action film 10,000 BC , which celebrated its world premiere in March 2008. Since 2015 he has played a leading role in the successful science fiction series The Expanse . In March 2008, he announced his wedding to actress Lynn Collins , nine years his senior . The divorce followed in 2013.
