German Games Prize 1993: 8th place |
Gravers is a card game by the German game designer Klaus Palesch , published by Amigo Spiel und Freizeit GmbH . So far it was twice on the regional qualification (1995, 2003) for the German team championship in the board game on the tournament program.
Game flow
There are as many rounds as there are other players (or a previously agreed number). In each round you get 15 cards in your hand, with eight players only 14. You choose a color from these, which becomes your personal trouble color. The selected card should have a low number as possible, because the value counts negatively in the statement. Now one card is played in a tactically clever way. No player has to use the color played. You can either throw it off or stab it. One tries to cover up the others in their anger color as bold as possible.
As soon as all cards have been played, scoring takes place. Each card that does not correspond to the trouble color counts as a plus point, all digits in the trouble color count negatively with the printed card value and are deducted from the number of cards. Then all cards are shuffled and redistributed.
particularities
- The mechanism of selecting trumps, which is common in traditional tricks , is turned on its head in this innovative game development. All suits are “trumps” with the exception of the suit played first in each trick. One is not obliged to serve.
