Stina Troest (born January 17, 1994 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish athlete who has specialized in the 400 meter hurdles.

Career

Troest took part in the premiere of the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010 and won the silver medal over the 400 meter hurdles there. Three years later she won the bronze medal at the European Junior Championships.

In 2014 Troest was able to qualify for both the indoor world championships and the open-air European championships. In the latter, she was able to improve to the semi-finals.

In 2015 she won the silver medal behind the Swede Elise Malmberg at the U23 European Championships . At the World Championships in Beijing , she achieved a new personal best in the run-up, but failed in the semifinals because of a final.

In June 2016, Troest made it to the finals of the European Athletics Championships , where he finished seventh. She managed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated in the semifinals.

At the European Athletics Indoor Championships 2017 in Belgrade , Troest surprisingly reached the final over 800 meters and finished fifth there.
