The Stoney Creek is a small mountain in the Rocky Mountains Wyoming . It rises in Carbon County about 30 km south-southwest of Rawlins at about 2550 m above sea level. After about five kilometers and an altitude of 152 meters, it flows into Grove Creek .
The origin of Stoney Creek is only a few hundred meters away from the North American continental divide . It drains into the Pacific Ocean via Grove Creek, McKinney Creek , Muddy Creek , Little Snake River , Yampa River , Green River and Colorado River .
