StormHammer is a German power metal band from Munich .
history
The band was founded in 1993 in Munich under the name "Lizard". Since there was already a German southern rock band with the same name, it was decided to change the name to "Steamhammer". Since this band name was already occupied by another group, they finally renamed themselves "StormHammer".
The first album FireBall was released in 2000 through Century Media . To promote FireBall , the band toured Europe with Morgana Lefay , Angel Dust and Steel Prophet . You were voted Newcomer 2000 by readers of Metal Heart magazine.
The second album, Cold Desert Moon , was also released through Century Media in 2001, followed by live appearances as the opening act for Blind Guardian in Germany, Italy, Austria and Hungary.
Lord of Darkness is the title of the third album, which was released in 2004 and promoted in 2005 by a European tour with Grave Digger and Astral Doors .
It wasn't until five years later, in 2009, that StormHammer's fourth album Signs of Revolution was released.
In the meantime only the two founding members Manny Ewender and Horst Teßmann remained in the band. The singer Jürgen Dachl (ex-Diabolos Dust), guitarist Bernd Intveen and drummer Chris Widmann complete the line-up .
