Strohfeuer is a German silent film love melodrama from 1915 by Richard Eichberg .
action
The story takes place in the picturesque high mountain landscape of the Alps. It tells of a constellation that is not atypical in the German Empire: the love affair or love of two people from different social backgrounds. The protagonists here are Mia Waldheim, daughter of a count, and Franz Altmann, a good-natured, friendly nature boy and son of a simple widow from the people. While the young man develops serious feelings for the noblewoman, she only seems to see him as a nice pastime and to play with him. What was thought of as love soon turns out to be just a flash in the pan. Finally, Franz also realizes how little Mia is serious about him and turns to a girl of his class who genuinely loves him and makes him happy.

criticism
"The film" Strohfeuer "has to be described as a pretty, entertaining moral drama, which wins enormously because it plays consistently in the picturesque snowy landscape of the high mountains and is brilliantly portrayed by the bearers of the main roles."
