Slaves of Foreign Will is a German silent film drama from 1919 directed by Richard Eichberg with his future wife Lee Parry in the lead role.

action

Professor Mors has made a name for himself as a hypnotist. He shows great interest in the very young Claire Raven, a daughter from a good family. Her mother, a councilor for commerce, refuses Mors the hand of her daughter with reference to the dubious and disreputable way of life of Mors' mother, Mrs. Steffens. Mors, who feels deeply humiliated by the Kommerzienratin, decides to cruelly take revenge on this "injustice". He puts Claire under hypnosis and incites a man, another person he has hypnotized, on the innocent girl in order to desecrate her. Then Prof. Mors shoots himself.

Some time has passed and Claire Raven, the "slave of alien will," has given birth to a child. She cannot remember the rape and marries her childhood sweetheart. But then she comes into possession of the farewell letter from Mors, in which the crime against her and his motives are explained. Claire is deeply shocked and immediately rushes to the man who, on behalf of Mors, caused her this suffering under hypnosis. But she only finds him dead. Finally, Claire, too, suffers a terrible fate when she is killed in a fire.
