Strzyżewice (German Striesewitz ) is a village in Poland in the Greater Poland Voivodeship . It belongs to the Powiat Leszczyński in the municipality of Święciechowa .
geography
The village is located in western Poland on the eastern border of the Święciechowa municipality. Strzyżewice borders directly on Leszno in the north and east .
history
The village has been around since 1294. It belonged to the Leszczyński family , so Jan Leszczyński was the owner between 1565 and 1580 . During the Second Partition of Poland in 1793, the place came to Prussia . From 1783 to 1845 the Sułkowski family owned the property. With the establishment of the Second Polish Republic , the place was part of the same from 1920. In 1925 the village became state property. From the following year until 1946, Feliks Haertl was the owner of the village. In September 1939 the place was occupied by the Wehrmacht during the attack on Poland and became part of the Reichsgau Wartheland . Since 1945 the place has been part of Poland again.
Economy and Infrastructure
State road 12 ( droga krajowa nr 12 ) runs north of the village .
The railway line from Leszno to Głogów runs in the south of the village, but the village itself has no stop. The nearest train station is in Leszno.
The Leszno-Strzyżewice airfield , which belongs to the city of Leszno, is located on the site of the village . It was the venue for many world and European championships in air and balloon sports. The nearest international airport is Poznan-Ławica Airport , about 65 kilometers to the northeast.
