Site plan of the nature reserve

Since 1995 a three-kilometer section of the river has been designated as a nature reserve Sudbachtal . This area covers an area of 23 hectares on both sides of the B61 , which spans the valley by means of a bridge, in Löhne- Gohfeld . The near-natural brook valley is characterized as a sieve system with a box profile that is typical of the Ravensberger Hügelland. There are alders , ash and oak trees in the valley floor and beech trees on the slopes . The fallow land is home to the remains of alluvial forests.
