Susanne Bienwald (* in Eutin , Germany ) is a German writer , editor and literary scholar .

Life

Susanne Bienwald grew up with five siblings in Holstein . After finishing school, she began studying philosophy , German , Romance studies and sociology in Konstanz , Berlin and Hamburg. In Hamburg she finally passed the state examination in literary studies .

After a brief position as a teacher, Bienwald has been working as a freelance writer since 2001 and as a lecturer at the publishing house Expeditions in Hamburg since 2017.

Her work includes several books, a film and the text zu plots , an audio-visual installation by the Munich artist Angelika Böck at the Brühler Kunstverein .

Bienwald is a member of several literary societies, including the Hebbel Society , the Wilhelm Lehmann Society and the Heine House in Hamburg . In addition, she is a long-standing member of the board of the Writer's Room Hamburg and a member of the Hamburg authors' association, where she was on the jury of the Walter Kempowski Literature Prize several times .

Bienwald gives readings and lectures, including at Hamburg schools.

Works

Susanne Bienwald dealt with North German playwrights and poets in her publications . Her first work was a portrait of Hans Erich Nossack . Your film Hans Erich Nossack. Interior views of an outsider (together with Frank Hertweck) was produced in 2001 for SWR , Baden-Baden, and in 2002 won the LiteraVision television prize of the state capital of Munich . In 2007 the book Hans Erich Nossack was published. At night on the Lombard Bridge , which describes the life of the playwright.

In 2008, Bienwald published Lauter torn conditions on Friedrich Hebbel . Friedrich Hebbel and Hamburg, in which she describes the author's relationship with Hamburg. In 2016 she published the artist's biographical novella Da geht ein , which describes the playwright's walk from Munich to Hamburg.

She also devoted herself to the topic of high sensitivity (Roman Wittensee , 2016), the book Ich, Mina from Gärtnerstraße (2018) includes numerous short stories from the point of view of Bienwald's bitch.
