The Suzuki Gladius is a naked bike ( sports tourer ) motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer Suzuki .

The Suzuki Gladius was added to the model range in 2009 as the successor to the successfully sold SV 650 .

Compared to its predecessor, the Gladius experienced changes mainly to the frame and optics. The V2 engine with dual ignition , manifold injection and regulated catalytic converter has been adopted almost unchanged from the SV 650 and meets the Euro 3 emissions standard. The suspension can be adjusted in the spring preload at the front and rear. The display instruments consist of a mix of analog and digital technology (LCD) and are well equipped for this motorcycle class. A gear display and a remaining range display are integrated.

Since 2010 the Suzuki Gladius has only been offered in the ABS version in German-speaking countries.

For the 2016 model year, it will be replaced by the newly launched SV 650, which has been modified with less weight and a little more performance, especially in terms of appearance.

The Suzuki Gladius Trophy has existed since 2015. In 2015 it took place as part of the IDM on race tracks in Germany and Belgium. The master of the class in the first year was Kai-Uwe Lenz. In 2016 his nephew Pascal Lenz won the cup.
