Sven Baum (born October 20, 1968 ) is a former German soccer player.

Athletic career

Club career

Having already as a junior player first inserts the second team of FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the League 1986/87 season has seen, he moved permanently in the summer of 1987 from the Juniorenoberligaelf the FCC in the local Ligaufgebot . In the first eight games of the 1987/88 season he was part of the Jena branch of coach Rainer Schlutter .

On October 2, 1987 he was substituted in for Andreas Krause in the Thuringia derby between FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt and FC Carl Zeiss in the league game run by coach Lothar Kurbjuweit after 28 minutes . The next day he was back on the pitch for 90 minutes in the league team and the trip to the top division of GDR football was to remain his only one in the FCC jersey.

He was a member of the Jena soccer club until early spring 1988, on March 20, which is the date of his last point game for FC Carl Zeiss Jena II. From April 1, he ran like Uwe Amstein , who also went from the university town within the Gera district to the Red Hill in Weida , in the same season of this division for the BSG Progress Weida . International

The young talent from Jena was called up in nine games in the GDR U-18 . With the junior selection, Baum won 2nd place in the youth competition of friendship in North Korea in the summer of 1986 .
