Sven Glinker (born January 24, 1981 in Berlin ) is a German volleyball player .

Career

Sven Glinker began his volleyball career in 1990 at SV Preußen Berlin and played at SCC Berlin as a teenager from 1991 . With the youth national team, he was Vice European Champion in 1999. He then played with the German junior team both in the second Bundesliga for VC Olympia Berlin and by means of second-play rights in the Bundesliga for SCC Berlin, with whom he became the 2000 DVV Cup winner and German runner-up. In 2001, the outside attacker switched to league competitor Bayer Wuppertal , with whom he again became German runner-up in 2003. During this time Glinker also played in the senior national team . In 2004 he moved to the Belgian first division club Aquacare Halen . Two years later he returned to the German Bundesliga and played for SG Eschenbacher Eltmann in 2006/07 and for the Hamburg Cowboys in 2007/08 . Because of knee problems, Glinker had to end his volleyball career in 2008. In 2015 Glinker was reactivated and now plays in the second Bundesliga South for the Oshino Volleys Eltmann .

Private

Sven Glinker is now a physiotherapist in Berlin with his own practice. He has been married since 2014. His parents were active in sports in the GDR : mother Petra was a track and field athlete , father Matthias was a national volleyball player . Glinker's younger brother Jan is a soccer goalkeeper .
