Sven Sanny Lindström (born December 24, 1979 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who was active in the course of his career for Färjestad BK and Timrå IK from the Elitserien .

Career

Sanny Lindström began his career in 1997 at Huddinge IK in the Swedish Division 1, where he played for two years and was used during the time for the Swedish junior national team at the U20 World Cup in 1999 . In the 1999 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the fourth round at position 112 and shortly thereafter moved to North America. There he played for the next three years with the Hershey Bears in the AHL , which acted as the farm team of the Avalanche, but also went on the ice for the Baton Rouge Kingfish in the East Coast Hockey League and the Quad City Mallards in the UHL .

After Lindström could not recommend himself for the NHL squad of Colorado, he returned to Sweden in 2002 and played there for the next six years for Timrå IK in the Elitserien , where he was also active as a team captain . At the 2005 World Cup , he was a member of the Swedish national team, which ended up in fourth place. In the summer of 2008, Lindström moved to Switzerland, where he played for the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in the National League A for one season. For the 2009/10 season he returned to Sweden and received a four-year contract with Färjestad BK , with whom he won the Swedish championship in the following season .

He ended his career in August 2013.

International

His greatest success with the Swedish national team was winning the bronze medal at the 2010 World Cup . He also took part with the Swedish selection at the 2005 World Cup and represented the Tre Kronor as a junior player at the 1999 U20 Junior World Cup .
