Sven Wocke (born June 3, 1982 in Wermelskirchen , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German swimmer .

Career

Sven Wocke grew up in Wermelskirchen and started swimming at the age of eight, first at the DLRG and then at Wermelskirchener TV . From May 1999 he swam for the SG Remscheid . From November 2000 to June 2001 he did his military service with the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Warendorf . In November 2002 he received the right to start at SG Bayer Wuppertal / Uerdingen / Dormagen . After moving to Saarland for work-related reasons , he is now working for SSG Saar Max Ritter .

He achieved his greatest success at the German Short Course Championships in Goslar in 2002 , where he won his first national title in the 800 m freestyle .

After a break from competition of over ten years, he won two golds (1500 m freestyle and 400 m medley ) and one silver (200 m back ) at the German Masters Championships in Cologne in 2015 .
