The Wermelskirchener TV ( WTV ) is a sports club from the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Wermelskirchen . It was founded in 1860 and offers the sports handball , judo , athletics , Qwan Ki Do , swimming , sport shooting , table tennis , tennis and volleyball .

Handball

The men's team of the Wermelskirchener TV played from 1982 to 1996 and from 1998 to the withdrawal at the end of the 2004/05 season in the Handball Regional League West . In the 1985/86 , 1991/92 , 1998/99 , 1999/2000 , 2001/02 , 2002/03 , 2003/04 , 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons , the team took part in the main round of the DHB Cup . The greatest success was reaching the third round in 2001/02 and 2004/05, where the WTV was then eliminated by a Bundesliga club ( HSG Nordhorn and TuS N-Lübbecke ).

Since 2007 the WTV has been cooperating with SV 09/35 Wermelskirchen , CVJM Wermelskirchen and Dabringhauser TV. In the youth area the teams compete as JHC Wermelskirchen, in the adult area as HC Wermelskirchen.
