Handball Regional League West 1986/87
The 1986/1987 season of the men 's regional handball league was the 17th in its history. A total of 24 teams in a north and a south relay played for the West German championship. The two best-placed teams of their season played for the title of West German champions in 1987 after 22 match days. This was achieved by OSC 04 Rheinhausen .
Three teams had to be relegated to the upper leagues: TUSEM Essen 2 (Lower Rhine), TV Urmitz (Rhineland-Palatinate) and TuS Siebengebirge (Middle Rhine).
