Sylvia Manas

Sylvia Manas ( 1948 - October 6, 1977 ) was an Austrian actress .

Life

Manas played in well-known series ( Derrick ) and in literary adaptations ( Das Gebell von Ingeborg Bachmann ). Two days before the Dalli-Dalli live broadcast, to which she was invited as a candidate, Manas had a fatal accident on the way to Hans Rosenthal's show . Until her accident, she was with the director , screenwriter Dieter Wedel , who she also wanted to marry. Before this relationship, she was married to the Austrian actor Heinz Ehrenfreund , from whom she divorced years later. In memory of the actress there was the Sylvia Manas Prize for acting for several years. From 1978 onwards, it was awarded once a year, in November, to a young Austrian actress. The age limit was 30 years. The jury consisted of several theater directors and theater professionals who went to performances in Vienna and the federal states to make their selection. The prize was endowed with 30,000 schillings. Prize winners included Josefin Platt , Elfriede Schüsseleder and Ulli Maier . Laudators were among others Rudolf Noelte and Gerhard Tötschinger .
