Sylvie Gautrelet

Sylvie Léone Lucienne Gautrelet (born August 29, 1950 in Paris ) is a French costume designer .

Life

Sylvie Gautrelet began working as a costume designer for films in the late 1970s. One of her first projects was Catherine Breillat's revealing drama Tapage nocturne (1979). In 1983 she designed the costumes for Philippe de Broca's adventure film The Bush Pilot with Catherine Deneuve and Philippe Noiret in the leading roles. In the same year it was first used in Am Rande der Nacht, directed by filmmaker Claude Berri . Berri, with whom Gautrelet began a relationship and with whom she was married until 1994, repeatedly returned to Gautrelet as a costume designer over the years, including for his films Jean Florette (1986) with Yves Montand and Gérard Depardieu , Manons Rache (1986 ) with Montand and Emmanuelle Béart as well as for the mid-19th century drama Germinal , for which Gautrelet received the César in the category Best Costumes in 1994 together with Moidele Bickel and Caroline de Vivaise .

Gautrelet also worked as a costume designer for directors, who specialize in film comedies, Francis Veber ( Die refugees , 1986) and Claude Zidi ( Asterix and Obelix versus Caesar , 1999). For his penultimate film, Together we are less alone with Audrey Tautou in the lead role, Berri, who died in 2009, entrusted Gautrelet with the costume design again. Their son Darius Langmann emerged from the connection with Berri.
