Church in Szlachta

Szlachta [ˈʂlaxta] (until 1945 Schlachta ) is a village with a Schulzenamt in the municipality of Osieczna in the powiat Starogardzki in the Pomeranian Voivodeship in northern Poland , right on the border with the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship . It is located about 6 km west of Osieczna , 36 km southwest of Starogard Gdański and 75 km southwest of Gdańsk .

The place was first mentioned in 1664. Its inhabitants were mainly concerned with agriculture and forestry. In 1905 Szlachta had 405 inhabitants. One of the sights is the Sacred Heart Church, which was built together with the rectory in 1923 from a former inn with a hall.

Szlachta has a train station on the Laskowice Pomorskie – Bąk railway , where a connection to Lipowa Tucholska branches off on the Kościerzyna – Bydgoszcz railway. There are regular passenger train connections in all three directions. The western side of the Gleisdreieck is out of service, as is the former railway line towards Skórcz . The village is connected to the Osieczna Community Center, the city of Czersk and other places in the vicinity via country roads.
