Tårnby Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Amager southeast of the Danish capital Copenhagen . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Sokkelund Herred in what was then Københavns Amt , then to Tårnby Kommune in the smaller Københavns Amt , which became part of the Hovedstaden region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 . A large part of the parish takes the airport Kastrup one.
Of the 42,539 inhabitants of Tårnby , 10,703 live in the parish of Tårnby (as of January 1, 2020).
The church "Tårnby Kirke" is located in the parish.
Neighboring communities are in the north Kastrup Sogn and Korsvejens Sogn and west Skelgårds Sogn , also in the north neighboring Copenhagen municipality ( dt. : Copenhagen ) in the northwest of Solvang Sogn and north Højdevang Sogn and in the southern neighbor dragør municipality Store Magleby Sogn .
