  • Türksoy ( proper spelling : TÜRKSOY; Turkish : Uluslararası Türk Kültürü Teşkilatı ; German: International Organization for Turkish Culture ) is an international organization for the culture of the Turkic peoples based in Ankara . Türksoy is an acronym from Tür k K ültür ve S anatları O rtak Y önetimi (German: Turkish Culture and Art Organization). The General Director of Türksoy is the former Kazakh culture minister Duisen Kaseinow .

    history

    Türksoy is based in Ankara

    The organization was founded at a meeting of the culture ministers of Azerbaijan , Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan , Turkey , Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in Baku and Istanbul in 1992 , at which the states signed an agreement on cultural cooperation. Türksoy was then launched in Almaty with the signing of a contract on July 12, 1993 . Since 1996, Türksoy and UNESCO have been cooperating through mutual consultations and mutual representation. Türksoy has been part of the Turkish Council since 2009 .

    Members

    The most important body is the permanent council of the culture ministers of the member states. Türksoy has six member countries and eight regions with observer status.
