TF6 was a French commercial broadcaster . It began broadcasting on December 18, 2000 via the TPS satellite platform . The television channel was created as a cooperation between France's largest private broadcasters TF1 and M6 . Both broadcasting companies held 50% of the television station's capital. 50% of the station was owned by TF1 and 25% each by the RTL Group and in free float . As of December 31, 2014, broadcasting was discontinued due to lower audience ratings.
