TVP ABC is the name of the special interest program for children of the Polish television Telewizja Polska (TVP). It started operating in February 2014.
profile
The program is aimed at children between the ages of four and twelve with children's films, cartoons and child-friendly magazine programs. The extended target group includes parents and educators. The operator's claim to himself describes an “attractive and valuable program” that is geared towards the needs of the target group, but also needs to meet educational and cultural demands.
The TVP special interest channel was announced as a digital offer in January 2013. The board of directors of Polish television applied to the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) for a DVB-T license and was able to prevail against Turner Broadcasting System and the Cartoon Network and Boomerang channels , as well as against Polsat Kids .
distribution
The program started in the first DVB-T multiplex of Polish TV, as well as in some cable networks. The program was also activated via IPTV (e.g. at Orange Polska ). The connection in other cable networks should take place gradually. Furthermore, an HbbTV portal is planned and distribution as hybrid television . The program is available via satellite in the “Start +” package from nc + .
Monthly magazine
A magazine of the same name has been published by Edipresse Polska since March 2015 . The editor is Katarzyna Michalczak. With an initial print run of 40,000 copies, the magazine is aimed at preschool and elementary school children as well as parents. Contents are leisure activities, as well as advice and support in the development of the children. The concept is implemented with stories, comics, puzzles and English lessons. The content is designed with the help of the protagonists from the television program. Although the start was formally independent of TVP under the brand and logo license, the magazine is to be continued in the future as part of a cooperation agreement between the publisher and the broadcaster.
