TVP3 (formerly TVP Regionalna ) is a television broadcaster of the Polish public broadcaster Telewizja Polska . TVP's third program started in 1994 and was gradually renamed TVP3 between 2000 and 2002. In 2007 TVP3 was replaced by the news channel TVP Info and the regional windows were transferred to the new channel. With the conversion of TVP Info to a pure news channel, regional reporting was again outsourced to a separate program. On January 2, 2016, the station was renamed TVP3 again.

The station's claim is based on the program mandate to be “our television”, which reports on events and everyday life in the regional environment of the audience: “Jesteś u siebie!” (You are at home).

The roots of the program lie in the twelve (later 16) regional studios that Wieslaw Walendziak, TVP CEO, started in 1994 under the common umbrella brand TVP Regionalna , which considered a joint appearance to be more promising than the introduction of several regional programs. Although series and feature films have already been shown, the program with a lot of culture and sport had a strong reference to regional events, also in the national cover program. Under the name TVP3 , the station at that time was expanded into a full program with entertainment and feature films, regional content was largely limited to the program windows of the regional studios. In 2005 the local windows for Gorzów Wielkopolski, Kielce, Olsztyn and Opole started. The regional windows were also retained when the transmitter was converted into the TVP Info news channel .

On May 23, 2013 Polish TV announced a new regional channel, the name was launched in July. Should the station initially start again as TVP3, it was then started as TVP Regionalna and finally called TVP3 again in 2016.

program

TVP3 produces a nationwide cover program for regional reporting, several times a day the regional windows of the 16 regional studios are switched apart. The focus is on journalistic information. The regional editors provide information from the regions for five hours from around 6:30 a.m. to 0:30 a.m., around one hour more than in the regional TVP Info programs. Compared to the previous regional television, the new broadcaster relies more on the transmission of major events or sporting events. The program sovereignty is again increasingly transferred to the decisions of the regional editors, who can also disengage from the community program for a live broadcast on their own responsibility.

Regional studios and local windows

Regional branches with their own editorial offices produce the joint program and regional programs from the following locations:

reception

Since the start of broadcast, the program has been broadcast terrestrially via the third DVB-T multiplex and in almost all cable networks.

It was gradually switched to the other reception channels, satellite and IP-based platforms ( IPTV ), which the platform operators are obliged to do under the Polish Media Act. Cyfrowy Polsat , nc + , TNK and Orange Polska started broadcasting in the first month of broadcast .

The expansion to satellite reception and other IP TV providers is planned, as is the distribution in HDTV image resolution.
