The TV 1893 Neuhausen is a German sports club from the Metzingen district of Neuhausen an der Erms . The club was best known for its handball team , which played four seasons in the handball Bundesliga .
history
The handball team of TV Neuhausen made it into the southern season of the then two-part Bundesliga for the first time in 1973 , but rose after a year as bottom of the table again. After another one-year interlude in the 1975/76 season , TVN was one of the founding members of the single-track Bundesliga as a promoted member of the single-track Bundesliga in the 1977/78 season , but had to accept relegation to the then second-rate Regionalliga Süd after only one year . Two years later, the club had to leave this league down and then spent almost three decades in the amateur field.
After being promoted back to the fourth-class Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in 2005, the TVN made two more promotions within four years and has played in the 2nd Bundesliga again since 2009, and for the first time in over thirty years at the national level. After two eighth places in the 2nd Bundesliga South, TV Neuhausen had qualified for the first season of the single-track 2nd Bundesliga, finished third at the end of this season and was thus able to celebrate its fourth promotion to the Bundesliga. The TVN is thus the club with the largest time gap between two first division seasons in the history of the Bundesliga. In its previous three Bundesliga seasons, the club has always finished last.
In the Bundesliga season 2012/13, the club played its home games in the Paul Horn Arena in Tübingen , as the Hofbühlhalle was not suitable for the Bundesliga. The team is currently coached by Aleksandar Stević. Jürgen Zepf was the managing director of the handball department until September 30, 2012. One match day before the end of the season, the team was determined to be relegated from the Bundesliga, so they played again in the 2nd handball Bundesliga from the 2013/14 season . In the 2016/17 season , the club was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga to the 3rd division .
After the club was relegated from the third division in the 2017/18 season, TV Neuhausen Handball-Bundesliga GmbH had to file for bankruptcy on May 23, 2018. In June 2018, the club announced that he would not start in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg and that he was relegated to the Württembergliga in the 2018/19 season. In the 2018/19 season, the club only took part in matches with its 2nd team in the regional league .
