National Participation in the DHB Cup 2006/07

The TV Werther (officially: Turnverein Werther 04 eV ) is a sports club from Werther in the Gütersloh district . The first men's handball team once took part in the DHB Cup .

history

The association was founded in 1904. In addition to handball, the club also offers badminton , unicycling , judo , athletics , cycling , rehabilitation sports , table tennis , gymnastics , volleyball and hiking . As of the end of 2013, TV Werther had 2,247 members.

Handball

The men's team of TV Werther played in the Westphalia Association in the early 2000s. In 2004 the team had to relegate to the regional league, where the team still plays today. In 2006, the Wertheraner qualified for the DHB-Pokal and lost to HSG Kropp-Tetenhusen in the first round with 24:27. The home venue is the sports hall of the Werther Comprehensive School. With Jan-Fiete Buschmann and Hartmut Kania , TV Werther produced two German national players.

Nadine Jarosch began her gymnastics career at TV Werther. She took part in the 2011 World Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London .

Marlis Schäffer finished fourth in the 400-meter run at the German Championships in 1961 .
