Taean County ( Korean : 태안군 , Taean-gun ) is located in Chungcheongnam-do Province in South Korea . The administrative headquarters are in the city of Taean-eup. The district had an area of 505 km² and a population of 64,115 inhabitants in 2019.
The Korean government established Taeanhaean National Park in 1978 . It consists of 326.57 km² of land. Almost 250 species thrive there.
