Geumsan County ( Korean : 금산군 , Geumsan-gun ) is located in Chungcheongnam-do Province in South Korea . The administrative headquarters are in the city of Geumsan-eup. The district had an area of ​​577 km² and a population of 54,596 inhabitants in 2019.

Known for its ginseng since the late Goryeo dynasty, Geumsan also has one of the largest markets for ginseng and medicinal herbs in Korea these days. Although it no longer produces as much ginseng as it used to, it still makes the majority of the ginseng traded in South Korea.
