Takashi Nagao (athlete)

Takashi Nagao ( Japanese 長尾 隆 史 , Nagao Takashi; born August 31, 1957 ) is a former Japanese hurdler and sprinter .

In 1977 he finished eighth over 400 m hurdles at the Athletics World Cup in Düsseldorf and won bronze at the Pacific Conference Games .

At the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1978 and the Asian Athletics Championships in 1979, he won silver in the same discipline.

In 1981 he was Asian champion over 400 m hurdles. At the Athletics World Cup in Montreal he was eighth in the 400 m hurdles and with the Asian team ninth in the 4 x 400 meter relay .

The following year he won the Asian Games in New Delhi in 1982 over 400 m hurdles.

From 1977 to 1979 he was Japanese champion over 400 m hurdles three times in a row. He set his personal best in this discipline of 49.59 s on September 25, 1978 in Tokyo .
