Tamar Iveri , Georgian თამარ ივერი , also Tamar Iweri (born September 8, 1971 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian opera singer ( soprano ). She is the daughter of the well-known baritone Awtandil Dschawakischwili , who promoted her significantly.

Life

Even as a child, Tamar Iveri sang in the children's choir of the opera Carmen . The artist studied singing at the Tbilisi Conservatory. She then made her debut in 1998 in her native city as Desdemona in Otello . In 1999 she won first prize at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg . Tamar Iveri sang on the opera stages of Bonn , Berlin , Graz , Vienna , London , Venice , Paris , Hamburg , New York , Munich etc. She made her debut at La Scala in Milan in December 2011 as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni under Daniel Barenboim .
