Tamara Kancilija (born August 15, 1987 ) is a former Slovenian ski jumper .

Career

Kancilija, who started for the SK Triglav Kranj club , gained first international successes due to the lack of a professional series for women’s jumping at individual FIS competitions from January 2003 in Planica . After two eighth places there, she was given the opportunity to compete outside Slovenia shortly afterwards and was also able to achieve good placements in Villach . At the following junior competitions in Planica, she just missed the podium as fourth. After further good placements in the jumping competitions in Breitenberg , Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer , Baiersbronn and Schönwald in the Black Forest , she reached second place behind Monika Pogladič at the renewed junior performance on the Bloudkova Velikanka in Planica in March .

Also in summer 2003 Kancilija showed good performances, including a fourth place in Bischofshofen . After no professional competition series for the women was created in the 2003/04 season, Kancilija remained only the FIS jumping competitions all over Europe. When a series of competitions was finally set up for the 2004/05 season as part of the Ski Jumping Continental Cup , she got a starting place in the Slovenian squad. In her first competition on January 16, 2005 in Planica, she reached the points as 20th. It was also successful in Toblach, Italy, and Oberaudorf , Germany. After jumping in Schönwald and Baiersbronn, which were also successful, she was 31st in Breitenberg and missed the points for the first time, albeit just a little. Surprisingly, Kancilija jumped her last international competition shortly afterwards in Saalfelden and finished the season with 43 points in 30th place in the first Continental Cup overall ranking for women.
