Tang Jiaxuan
Tang Jiaxuan ( Chinese 唐家璇 , Pinyin Táng Jiāxuán , born January 1, 1938 in Zhenjiang , Jiangsu Province , China ) is a Chinese politician. From 1998 to 2003 he was Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China .
After various positions as a diplomat in Japan , he became assistant to the Chinese foreign minister Qian Qichen in 1991 , his vice minister in 1993 and finally followed him in 1998. Tang remained Foreign Minister until 2003. Until 2008, he remained a member of the State Council of the People's Republic of China . In addition, Tang was a member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party from 1997 to 2007 .
