history

Tassilo Theater 1982-2013

The Tassilo Theater was opened in February 1982 by Gerd Fischer in Nuremberg-Gostenhof . In 1992 he also opened the mill theater in Möhrendorf-Kleinseebach near Erlangen as a second mainstay. After 31 years of playing, the Tassilo Theater will finally close in 2013.

Location and facilities

The Tassilo was located in the listed Wilhelminian-style house at Sielstrasse 5 in Nuremberg-Gostenhof . The original plan was to use the inner courtyard for this and to roof it over. Since the building authorities did not agree, the theater was built in the basement. For this, the inner courtyard was lowered and the basement was expanded accordingly. The basement theater covered 400 square meters and allowed 250 seats, typically divided at small tables. Described in the theater brochure as the “magical little table theater with a touch of Art Nouveau charm”.

program

Gerd Fischer lived in the theater as a cabaret artist. He created a mix of music, cabaret and classical cabaret and shaped the theater with many solo appearances. With his piece "Operetta himself who can", a musical short version of Mozart's Magic Flute , he gave over 1500 performances. Guest artists at the cabaret included: Duo Er & Sie, Paul Kuhn , Sissi Perlinger , Helen Vita , Egon Helmhagen, Klaus Karl-Kraus , Robert Kreis , Dirk Bach , Paul Sturm, Gabi Lodermeier and Ottfried Fischer . Together with Christian Peter Rothemund and Wolfgang Riedelbauch, he was on stage for almost 20 years as a "refreshment trio", including with "Der fliagade Holländer".

The Nürnberger Nachrichten writes: "The Tassilo had its heyday especially in the late 80s and early 90s [..] With his then unique bridge from light classical music to cabaret, the Nuremberg (Gerd Fischer) program was more conservative Audience - and stood out from the Gostner Hoftheater , the only other comparable cabaret theater in the city (Nuremberg) at the time. "

Rent A Theater

The subsequently furnished bar in the foyer on the ground floor offered space for 35 people for an aperitif before the start of the performance and could be rented for 100 euros extra. The theater hall could also be rented under the keyword "Rent A Theater" for 400 euros at the time. 60 to 90 people were entertained, for a company and private party, with or without a theater performance. The offer also included the "ABC tariff: aperitif - buffet - cabaret!".
