action

The bank branch , where Zorowski also does his banking , is robbed by the masked part-time employee Schneider and her friend Sven Kalster while a security company is delivering the money . The inconspicuous cashier Schubart succeeds unnoticed in exchanging the cash suitcases that have just been delivered for empty ones, Schneider and Kalster can escape undetected with the supposedly full suitcases. During the robbery, Kalster shoots one of the two messengers. Roiter and Zorowski begin their investigations at the crime scene, but the witness interviews do not provide any useful information. Schubart, who is shocked to Roiter and Zorowski about the attack , triumphantly leaves the bank with the embezzled money. Later the doorbell rings, when he opens it, Kalster breaks into his apartment and demands the surrender of the loot at gunpoint. When Kalster tries to attack Schubart, he jumps to the side, so that Kalster falls on edge out of the window and falls fatally. Schubart disposed of Kalster's body in the nearby Spree and took his weapon. The next morning, Kalster's body was found elsewhere in the Spree.

The next morning, Schubart received theater tickets from the director and his colleagues at the bank for his exemplary behavior during the robbery, while Roiter and Zorowski were called to the place where the body was found. The coroner finds a broken neck before the dead man got into the water. Bank director Steinhoff meanwhile gives Schubart hints that he could make up for a "mistake" in the next two days. In the meantime, Miss Schneider makes advances to Schubart and thus accompanies him to the theater in the evening. Roiter, who happens to be attending the same theater performance, meets the dissimilar couple on leaving. Schneider tells Roiter that she had finished work a few minutes before the attack, Roiter continues to scrutinize the two of them unnoticed, and is astonished to note their advances towards the inconspicuous man. Schneider makes hints to Schubart about his embezzlement at dinner together, he also hints that he knows about her involvement in the attack. Schneider goes to Schubart's house, and in his apartment she disappears Kalster's sunglasses that are still on the floor. Roiter, who observes the fresh lovers from outside, finds Kalster's sunglasses, but throws them away. Shortly afterwards, he learns from Zorowski the identity of the dead man and that he also worked for the security company that supplied the bank with money. Roiter identifies Kalster's sunglasses in a photo, but the city cleaning service disposed of them before Roiter can secure the evidence.

In Kalster's apartment everything looks as if the resident wanted to travel, in the bathroom Roiter finds a women's perfume that he has already smelled. Roiter and Zorowski go to the bank, Roiter confronts Fraulein Schneider with his suspicions in the presence of bank director Steinhoff and asks her if she knows Sven Kalster and was an accomplice of his, she admits to have known Kalster, but claims for one Not having had any contact with him for half a year. Schubart spontaneously gives her an alibi for the night Kalster died . In the pathology department , Roiter learns that Kalster died not from outside influences but from a fall, and the remains of a window frame were found on his body. Meanwhile, Steinhoff calls on Schubart in an ultimatum to pour him pure wine. Schneider is already no longer acceptable, Schubart shouldn't go to extremes. Schneider assures Schubart that she is interested in him and that she is innocent of the bank robbery, Roiter and Zorowski keep the two under observation, but now believe in a real love affair when they watch the two turtling. When evaluating the robbery video, the officers noticed that the suitcases were pulled away from Schubart and exchanged during the robbery, so Roiter suspects that Schubart was an accomplice and Schneider was the second robber. After another night of love with Schneider, Schubart goes to Steinhoff, who explains to him that he has discussed the matter with the bank's board of directors, that he can return the money and then they would let the matter rest.

When Schubart comes home to get the money and take it to the bank, he finds Roiter and Zorowski in his apartment with an arrest warrant and a search warrant , they inform him that his apartment has been broken into and searched beforehand. Roiter confronts him with his suspicions regarding his complicity in the bank robbery and his perpetration in the murder of Kalster. He shows him that the traces on Kalster's body come from his windowsill and the bank railing in front of his house. In his hiding place is no longer the money, but a memento from Miss Schneider, Schubart is able to flee from Zorowski. Through a call from Steinhoff to Schubart's apartment, Roiter accidentally learns of the two men's deal. Roiter now knows that Schubart was not an accomplice of Schneider and Kalster, but got involved in the matter by chance. Schubart rushes to Steinhoff's bank and confesses that Schneider stole his money. At that moment, Schneider calls for him, she explains to him that she loves him, but the prosecution is afraid, she is on the way to the bank, but drives away again because Roiter and Zorowski go into the bank. She makes an appointment with Schubart in a parking garage in the city center, Steinhoff warns Schubart that this is a trap, he will meet her in Schubart's place to get the money back.

At their urging, Schubart tells Roiter and Zorowski about the meeting in the parking garage and his deal with Steinhoff, when Steinhoff's secretary throws in that the insurance company has long since reimbursed the money, the officials immediately realize that Steinhoff wants to embezzle the money. Schubart finally tells the officers where the parking garage is and that Steinhoff took a gun with him. While the officers rush to the parking garage with Schubart, Schneider waits for Schubart there. Steinhoff appears there with a gun and demands the surrender of the money, when Roiter and Zorowski arrive, Steinhoff shoots the officers and is injured by a graze. Schneider seizes the opportunity, picks up Steinhoff's weapon and takes him hostage. The officers lay down their weapons, at Schneider's request, Schubart picks them up and flees with Schneider, Steinhoff leave the two behind.
