Tattva Viveka - magazine for science, philosophy and spiritual culture is the name of a quarterly magazine that was founded in 1994 by Ronald Engert and Marcus Schmieke in Frankfurt am Main . The Sanskrit term tattva means truth, viveka means discernment. The name translates as “the distinction between truth and illusion”.

The magazine has around 1000 subscribers and appears four times a year. It has a print run of around 4,000 copies and is part of the spectrum of spirituality and the New Age .

Content

The range of topics includes in particular publications on Eastern and Western religions , cosmology , myth research and quantum physics . In the field of humanities and social sciences , articles are published on spiritual philosophy, psychology , ecology , the spiritual dimension of sexuality and tantric love .

The 350 or so authors to date include esotericists such as Armin Risi , shamanism experts such as Nana Nauwald , the filmmaker Peter-Arthur Straubinger and scientists such as Harald Walach , Thomas Görnitz , Johannes Heinrichs , Gerald Hüther , Michael von Brück , Robert Hettlage , Rupert Sheldrake and Hans-Peter Dürr .

history

The editorial office was based in Frankfurt am Main from 1994 to 1996. From 1996 to 1998 she was at Weißenstein Castle on the Swabian Alb, where one of the founders, Marcus Schmieke, set up the Vedic Academy . During this time the castle was a focal point for spiritually and esoterically creative people, especially from the fields of Vedas, alternative medicine and free energy . From 1998 to 2001 the editorial office was based in Darmstadt , from 2001 to 2011 in Bensheim . In 2006 the frequency of publication was increased from three to four times a year. Since February 2011 the editorial office of Tattva Viveka has been in Berlin.
